My top Virginia Woolf quotes
1. “Never pretend
that the things you haven't got are not worth having.”
2. “Better was it to go
unknown and leave behind you an arch, then to burn like a meteor and leave no
dust.
3. “It is no use trying
to sum people up.”
4. “...But beauty must be broken daily to remain beautiful...”
5. “Beauty was not
everything. Beauty had this penalty — it came too readily, came too completely.
It stilled life — froze it.”
6. “I am rooted, but I
flow.”
7. “I thought how
unpleasant it is to be locked out; and I thought how it is worse, perhaps, to
be locked in.”
8. “Blame it or praise it, there is no denying the wild horse in us. To gallop intemperately; fall on the sand tired out; to feel the earth spin; to have - positively - a rush of friendship for stones and grasses, as if humanity were over, and as for men and women, let them go hang - there is no getting over the fact that this desire seizes up pretty often.”
9. “I worship you, but I
loathe marriage. I hate its smugness, its safety, its compromise and the
thought of you interfering with my work, hindering me; what would you answer?
"
10. “Arrange whatever
pieces come your way.”
11.“I really don't advise a woman who wants to
have things her own way to get married”
12. “There is no gate,
no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.”
13. “Nothing has really
happened unless it's been described [in words].”

..what he does not forget..what she remembers
He does not remember the words she said..she does not remember the date or events when it happened..They just remembered the minutest insignificant details.
'How her lips curved and her cheek bones prominently went up when she broke into smiles while she layed coiled in him pressed against his cheek'
'How the the tip of her nose felt icy cold at the side of his neck',
'How his palm fit her palm exactly, how it didn't fit exactly,'
'How she was not the most beautiful girl of this world but 'that moment'.. when he walked out of the house and turned back. The morning rays were falling on her.. that sight of her melted him!'
'How occasionally they glanced at each other and and it lingered intentionally into a longer gaze. Both refused to give it up first in that moment,
How when one of the either does give up, they acknowledged the moment in this secret smile which only the other could see,'
'How she stared him right in the eye..like she could look through and read him, and he would not blink and let himself, his truth and lies be read'
He does not remember the words she said..she does not remember the date or events when it happened..They just remembered the
People meet, people part..We feel we forget people and move, but we always remember them in smallest details that were never spoken off, never will be
